Within Andean traditions, sacred words and expressions form part of a living relationship with Pachamama, the Apus, the elements, the ancestors, and the wider living Cosmos. They are used in prayer, ceremony, healing, offerings, songs, and everyday relationship with the sacred.

In this special 13-part online teaching series, Shamans Directory and Pampamesayoq Medicine Man Wilbert Salas Atasi are delighted to invite you to explore sacred words, prayers, and expressions carried through the living traditions of the Andes.

This journey is intentionally more extensive than our previous courses. Guided by Spirit and by a deep respect for the language and the sacred teachings it carries, we felt it was important to allow these teachings the time and space they deserve. Rather than condensing them into fewer sessions, we have chosen to offer a complete 13-part journey, allowing each teaching to unfold naturally and building upon the previous one. Together, we will explore the deeper meanings, symbolism, cosmology, and ceremonial context of these words, as well as how they are used in prayer, healing, and everyday practice.

A sacred word can become a doorway. When we understand what a word carries — its meaning, intention, relationship, and place within the Andean cosmology — we can begin to approach it differently. Throughout the series, you will be introduced to words and expressions connected with people, animals, sacred places, ceremonial tools, healing practices, prayers, invocations, chants, and the natural world. You will also explore how these words are used within prayer, ceremony, healing, and sacred relationship.

The power of these teachings is not only in knowing the words, but to begin understanding the worldview and living relationship held within the words. As you become familiar with them, you can begin to bring them into your own prayer and ceremonial practice with greater understanding, intention, energy, and respect.

A word used in prayer can become an expression of relationship. A sacred name can open a different way of connecting. A prayer can become an offering. A ceremonial expression can help us enter a different quality of attention. The invitation is to discover how the meaning, sound, intention, and embodied energy of sacred words can come together in your own practice.

Through learning the sacred language, we also begin to encounter aspects of the Andean cosmology, values, relationships, and ceremonial worldview from which these words arise. This creates a pathway to deepen our relationship with the sacred, through listening, practice, embodiment, and relationship.

About Wilbert Salas Atasi
Wilbert is a master shaman and spiritual guide who resides in Cusco, Peru where he owns and operates his own guiding company in the Sacred Valley. Born in the district of Colcha, he was immersed from an early age in the wisdom and ceremonial traditions of the Andes. He learned from and exchanged techniques and teachings with healers known as Paqos or Hampiq Runa. Through these ancestral practices, Wilbert has deepened this awareness of the gifts Andean culture offers to the world.

Fluent in English, French, and German, in addition to Spanish and his native Quechua, Wilbert shares his knowledge and teachings with a global audience. He is honored and proud to make this ancient wisdom accessible to all who feel called to experience the sacred ceremonies and healing traditions passed down through his lineage. Wilbert also serves as a Shamans Directory Ambassador and Team Member. Since its inception, he has offered countless blessings, ceremonies, and initiation rites for both personal and global transformation.

About Mayumi Beckers
Mayumi is an Andean shamanic practitioner based in the Netherlands, devoted to guiding others on their path of healing, transformation, and empowerment. She serves as a teaching assistant throughout many Shamans Directory programs. With a deep focus on helping others return to their natural alignment and essence, she facilitates reconnection with the true self and with nature, aspects often forgotten, suppressed, or fragmented through trauma, conditioning, and modern life experiences.

Mayumi offers one-on-one sessions, both in person and remotely, ceremonial healing work, group workshops, and sacred travel opportunities. She is also the Co-Founder of Shamans Directory, a global nonprofit platform dedicated to bringing shamanic earth-based services to the world’s doorstep. She believes that life is a school of consciousness — always teaching, always evolving. Through her journey, she has gathered wisdom from around the world. Guided by the gifts of ancient earth-based medicine, she is honored to share her knowledge and practice in service to individuals, communities, and the world.
