STANDING FOR OUR WORLD: TRUSTING OURSELVES THROUGH UNCERTAIN TIMES
At Shamans Directory, we are often asked where we stand. In times of conflict and global crisis, we understand the call to take a position, and we honor the deep emotions, outrage, and care that give rise to that call. At the same time, our work and relationships across the world have shown us that suffering is not confined to one place, one people, or one moment in time. Across every continent — within nations, communities, and even our own neighborhoods — there are visible and unseen acts of violence, displacement, and harm unfolding each day. In these circumstances, we are not neutral. We stand with every victim of war. We stand with every person living with the effects of violence — whether global or domestic. We stand with every life that is unseen, unheard, or held in quiet suffering. Our hearts break with every act of violence and every act of injustice. We are not unaware. We are not ignorant to what is going on in our world. The issue is that human nature repeats itself over and over again - and change requires change. A change in how we react. A change in how we respond. How we hold what is happening in the world and how we respond is up to each one of us. As a global community of healers, our work calls us to remain in a place of deep listening, compassion, and responsibility — to hold our world in its entirety, even when it is complex, and even when it is difficult. Shamans Directory belongs to all of us. We are more than a Directory — we serve as a gathering place where lineage-based medicine people, healers, and teachers from around the world come together as colleagues in healing — to uplift one another, expand our capacity to be of service, and offer authentic, trusted, and meaningful access to those seeking balance and restoration. We recognize that the ancient wisdom and healing practices of the world’s still living earth-based traditions are essential if we are to return to right-relationship with the Earth and all living things. As a nonprofit global organization, we are dedicated to honoring, preserving, and supporting these traditions — from First Nations and Original Peoples to evolving lineage-based practices — in a way that is respectful, inclusive, and grounded in relationship. For decades, Elders have shared that humanity and the Earth will only be healed when we bring our medicine together again around one fire. At Shamans Directory, we hold this vision at the heart of everything we do. Each person carries unique and essential medicine — from tending to communities and cultures, to simple acts of kindness in daily life. All of it matters. All of it is needed. We are not here to divide, but to gather. We hold this as a guiding intention — a reminder that lasting peace cannot emerge from cycles of blame and division. As long as we see others as the problem and ourselves as disconnected from the solution, we remain within the very patterns that need healing. We stand for humanity — in all its complexity — and for the healing of individuals, communities, our Earth and all life that she holds. Together, we continue to ask how we can be of service. We are living in an era marked by the collective wounds of war, displacement, human rights abuses, and the enduring impacts of colonization and patriarchy. These struggles live within our families, our bodies, our lands, and our shared human story.
And yet, these same places of pain, offer a doorway that leads us back to connection, to responsibility, and to healing. We are deeply honored to welcome Tanja Meyburgh for a powerful interactive gathering that invites us into this doorway.
Tanja is an esteemed psychologist, family constellations facilitator, and internationally respected teacher of transgenerational healing. For more than two decades, she has worked with individuals and communities to uncover unseen patterns carried through generations.
In addition to her academic and therapeutic training, Tanja completed a 14-year initiation as an Igedla — a traditional doctor in the Venda lineage of South Africa, under the guidance of her teacher, Phokojwe. As a white South African, Tanja speaks with honesty and courage about the complexities of lineage, colonization, and belonging.
Drawing from her book Reclaiming Ancestors, she offers a pathway that is not about taking from other traditions, but remembering what lives within our own lineages. This will be a living, experiential space where you will be invited to feel, to reflect, and to explore how ancestral healing can support us all in meeting the collective challenges of our time with greater compassion, clarity, and responsibility.

The mystical number seven, Qanchis in Quechua, is recognized across cultures as a symbol of harmony and completion. It represents divine perfection and spiritual awakening, reflected through the seven chakras, the colors of the rainbow, the musical notes, the seven worlds, and the cycle of the seven days.
Wilbert brings his presence, wisdom, and devotion wholeheartedly to the gifts he shares with his community and the world. Born in Colcha, Peru, he was raised within the ceremonial traditions of the Andes, learning directly from Paqos or Hampiq Runa (Andean healers). Through decades of dedication, he carries and shares these ancestral teachings and practices with authenticity, humility, enthusiasm, and heart.

With a shared devotion for the Andean cosmology and living ancestral traditions, Wilbert and Mayumi are honored to present this new Shamans Directory teaching series. For those who are called, these teachings offer an opportunity to deepen both understanding and embodied practice.
We are also deeply honored to welcome esteemed Kurak Aqulleq (Elder) Don Mariano Quispe Flores as a guest teacher. Now in his mid-eighties, he carries a lifetime of wisdom rooted in the Q’eros traditions. His presence embodies love, vitality, and profound knowledge, bringing connection and inspiration wherever he goes.

In shamanic earth-based traditions, divination is an essential part of the practice. The art of seeing, tracking, and interpreting the signs that Spirit offers allows us to receive insights into situations, perceive potential blockages, and open pathways toward our authentic path.
Mama Coca is a sacred plant within the Andean traditions — a guide for divination, healing, offerings, and spiritual connection. In this intimate series of 4 online classes, Master Alfredo Huayta Singona, of the Qanchis Illya Rainbow Lineage and Noqan Kani, shares his lived wisdom, knowledge, and experience in communing with the oracle of Mama Coca.
Together, we will open the ceremonial dimensions of coca divination, exploring the mystery and tradition of this sacred plant. We will listen to the subtle language of Spirit through the coca leaves — and learn how the anatomy, forms, colors, and patterns of the leaves reveal insights into the physical and emotional body, the past and the future, and the presence of harmonious or challenging energies.
As with all sacred paths, the journey with Mama Coca unfolds over time. This course is an invitation to begin or deepen your relationship with Mama Coca and to walk in conscious dialogue with Spirit. If you do not have access to coca leaves, bay leaves or other leaves can also be used. We warmly welcome you into this sacred circle of learning and connection!

This extraordinary journey weaves together a visit to the pyramids of Caral — considered the oldest center of civilization in the Americas and of similar age to the early pyramids of Egypt — with a profound immersion into the mysteries of Chavín de Huántar. 19-29 July 2026 — Journey of the Seven Rays (Sacred Valley): The seven rays of the rainbow are deeply connected to our energetic centers and reflect the cosmic intelligence of the Pleiades constellation. With the Pleiades being activated by Uranus, the planet of awakening, in 2026, this will be a transformative journey of awakening the seven rays as pathways of consciousness — bringing them into radiant manifestation so you may shine and share your unique light brilliantly with your finest love, energy, and medicine.

You are warmly invited to a unique online KIVA gathering bringing together three Indigenous Wisdom Keepers from three different continents for an evening of connection, insight, and inspiration.
This special event begins with the screening of the documentary KIVA – The Call of the Wisdom Keepers, sharing the message of Indigenous elders and the revival of an ancient global ceremony dedicated to peace, unity, and reconnection with Mother Earth.
Following the film, join a live dialogue with powerful wisdom keepers, including Rutendo Ngara (Zimbabwe/South Africa), Carlos Jesús Castillejos (Mexico), and a special surprise guest. Together, they will share their perspectives, traditions, and insights on healing, and our relationship with the Earth.
Rutendo Ngara, also known as Neterteri Meska, Feng Xian, and Lapo’Mhlaba, is a wisdom keeper, spiritual guide, and bridge-builder. Rooted in African Indigenous knowledge, she weaves connections between nature, society, and spirit through her work as a priestess, diviner, and counselor.
Carlos Jesús Castillejos is a ceremonial leader, writer, and pilgrim of Mayan-Toltec descent from Tabasco, Mexico. Carrying the legacy of his Mayan and Zapotec ancestors, he walks the sacred Sacbé Trail in the Yucatán Peninsula, sharing the teachings of the Monkey lineage and the wisdom of the maize traditions.
Proceeds support Roots of the Earth (Raíces de la Tierra), the organization behind the KIVA ceremonies worldwide, including this year’s KIVA gathering in Zimbabwe.
Nepali Dhami–Jhankri Shamanism With Bhola Banstola 08-24 May 2026 Toronto, Vancouver & Quebec CANADA
We are honored to invite you to sit with Shamans Directory Ambassador Bhola Banstola, a respected Elder and long time-lineage carrier of the Nepali Dhami–Jhankri shamanic tradition, for a series of offerings in Canada this May. Each of the three gatherings offers a unique opportunity to learn from a true living master shaman.
In Toronto (May 8–10), the focus will be on the role of Nature, Ancestors, and the Wisdom Goddesses in healing. Held over Mother’s Day weekend, this is a special invitation to honor the feminine and the ancestral lines that guide us.
In Vancouver (May 15–17), the emphasis deepens into the role of ancestry and lineage. Here, participants will explore their relationship with those who came before, recognizing ancestors as active participants in one’s spiritual life and well-being.
In Quebec (May 23–24), the transmission offers an experiential foundation in Dhami–Jhankri shamanism — introducing working with elemental spirits, and entering shamanic states through rhythm, mantra, and song.
Across all three events, participants will engage in traditional practices such as drumming, sacred chanting, and shamanic journeying — methods that have been used for generations to access wisdom beyond ordinary perception.
