WHERE THE MAGIC BEGINS β βThere is something profoundly moving about traveling to places where shamanism and earth-based wisdom remain a living part of everyday life. Whether in the Amazon rainforest, the Andes, the steppes of Mongolia, the forests of Japan, or other traditional cultures around the world, we meet people whose relationship with the Earth is not a philosophy β it is simply the way they live. β Ceremony is not reserved for special occasions. Prayer is woven into daily life, offering gratitude to the rivers, the mountains, the forests, the animals, the ancestors, and to the Earth herself. These communities remind us that another way of being is not only possible, it already exists. β When we founded Shamans Directory, we imagined creating a place where people could find authentic, lineage-based practitioners. We never imagined how deeply this journey would transform us. β Wherever we travel, we meet traditional healers, Elders, and medicine people who are genuinely surprised to discover that there is an organization dedicated to honoring their traditions and helping preserve their wisdom. Many have spent their entire lives quietly serving their own communities, never expecting that people halfway around the world would know they existed, or care. β When we tell them about Shamans Directory, something beautiful happens. Their faces light up. They are moved to discover that there is a place created especially with them in mind, a place where Indigenous wisdom keepers and Western-trained practitioners are welcomed as colleagues in healing, where diverse traditions are honored with integrity, and where ancient knowledge can be shared with respect. Those moments remind us that we are not simply building a directory. We are building relationships. β The greatest gift of Shamans Directory is that it allows these extraordinary people to share their wisdom far beyond the places they call home. Through interviews, live gatherings, articles, courses, ceremonies, and conversations, their voices become accessible to people around the world who may never have the opportunity to travel to these sacred places themselves. β Every gathering becomes an opportunity to sit with an Elder or lineage-based practitioner. Every conversation becomes an invitation to see the world through different eyes. Words carry energy, intention, memory, and meaning. Sacred words do even more: they shape prayer, open ceremonial space, deepen healing, and strengthen our relationship with Spirit, Pachamama, the Apus, and the Cosmos.
We warmly invite you to join Pampamesayoq Medicine Man and ceremonialist Wilbert Salas Atasi for a rare 13-part journey into the sacred language of the Andes.
Through words, prayers, songs, and ceremonial expressions preserved within a living lineage, Wilbert will guide participants beyond translation and into the deeper wisdom, values, symbolism, and cosmology carried within the language itself.
Over thirteen 90-minute teachings, we will explore the spiritual names of people, animals, and sacred places; traditional ceremonial tools; sacred words for opening ceremonial space; language used in ceremony and energy healing; and sacred songs and chants. Each session will build upon the last, offering both cultural understanding and practical ways to deepen your own relationship with prayer, healing, ceremony, and the living world.
No previous Andean training or Mesa medicine bundle is required. Whether you are a beginner, an experienced practitioner, or simply curious, you are welcome to come with an open heart and a sincere desire to learn.
